Genotyping Systems for Your Needs

 

GeneSeek is a preferred provider of both high-throughput Sequenom-based MassARRAY genotyping and Illumina-based Infinium and GoldenGate genotyping. We can perform genotyping after processing a wide variety of sample types, including blood, blood spots, hair, nasal swabs, ear-tag punches, muscle and semen.

Our use of multiple platforms, flexibility in sample types, and state-of-the-art robotics enables us to assist with genotyping of any project regardless of size or scope. This includes efficient genotyping with Illumina’s BovineSNP50 array. GeneSeek has been commercially offering service for Illumina’s BovineSNP50 Genotyping BeadChip since February 2008 and has already successfully processed thousands of samples. GeneSeek is one of only a few Illumina certified genotyping labs : Illumina CSPro is a collaborative service partnership dedicated to ensuring the delivery of the highest-quality data available for genetic analysis applications. Illumina CSPro Providers undergo a rigorous two-phase certification process that includes minimum data generation, data certification, and an on-site audit of the facility and processes (www.illumina.com).

 

GeneSeek has also developed a unique mechanism for cost-effective use of positive controls to help maintain QC of sample identity throughout the poitentially extensive chain of custody. This involves genotyping of GeneSeek's Seek-TRACE product using the MassArray platform, using an independent sample originating from the same animal and collected at the same time as the sample used for the BovineSNP50 chip. Seek-TRACE consists of ~30 highly informative SNPs that provide high power for identity management, including comparing two samples from the same animal. All of these SNPs are also on the Bovine SNP50K chip, so this will enable highly effective and simultaneous QC for the project to manage the integrity of sample ID from the farm and through the various labs.
